Comparison
Arrangements Log vs OurFamilyWizard: an honest comparison
The short answer. They do different jobs. OurFamilyWizard is a shared platform for two parents: messages, a shared calendar, expenses and calls, with each parent holding a linked account and, as a rule, paying for it. Arrangements Log is a private record for one parent: there is nothing for the other parent to join, nothing is sent to them, and the record stays on your own iPhone or iPad and your own iCloud. If both of you want one documented channel for talking and planning, OurFamilyWizard is built for that and Arrangements Log is not. If you want to keep your own dated record of calls and visits without involving the other parent, that is what Arrangements Log is for.

Does the other parent need to be involved?
With OurFamilyWizard, yes. Its pricing page says: “You and your co-parent will each have your own accounts, and these accounts will be linked together within a private family forum. Once you sign up, we will reach out to your co-parent”. That is the point of it: messages, calendar changes and expenses happen in one shared place that both parents can see and that is documented.
To be fair to it, not everything in OurFamilyWizard is shared. Its Journal (Moments and Check-ins) defaults each new entry to private, “only viewable to you”, and you choose what to share, entry by entry.
With Arrangements Log, no. There is no account and no invitation. The other parent is not told, cannot see anything, and has nothing to install. You keep the record of your own calls and visits for yourself, and decide later whether any of it is needed and by whom.
What does each cost?
OurFamilyWizard’s UK plans, as listed on its website, are billed annually:
| Plan | Price | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Essentials | £107.99 a year (shown as £9/mo) | 45 minutes of calls a month, Writing Assistant, schedules and change requests, messages with first-viewed timestamps, expenses, GPS check-ins, unlimited PDF records, 5 GB storage |
| Premium | £155.99 a year (shown as £13/mo) | Unlimited calls, unlimited storage, unlimited business records affidavits |
| Max | £215.99 a year (shown as £18/mo) | Call recordings and transcriptions |
Prices through the App Store differ slightly: on 30 September 2026 the UK App Store listed Max at £219.00.
Each parent needs their own subscription, though OurFamilyWizard says one parent can pay for the other. So for a family where both parents are on Essentials, the total is about £216 a year. It also offers free or discounted subscriptions to parents in financial need, reduced rates for military families, free limited accounts for children and other family members, and free access for professionals. Subscriptions bought on its website carry a 30-day money-back guarantee; it says that offer is not available through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Arrangements Log is free for 14 days with no card needed, then £4.99 a month, or £49.99 once for lifetime access. Only the parent keeping the record pays. The record is never deleted if you stop paying, and stays exportable.
Where is the data kept?
OurFamilyWizard says its “messages are unalterable and securely stored in our servers”. Keeping one copy on a neutral server is how it makes a shared record that neither parent can edit. Its App Store privacy label lists data linked to you, including your name and email address, identifiers, product interaction and diagnostics.
Arrangements Log has no server. The record lives on your device and syncs between your own devices through your private iCloud, which the developer cannot read. Its App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”. The trade-off is that nobody else holds a copy: the record is only as available as your devices, your iCloud and your exports.
Where is OurFamilyWizard the better choice?
- You and the other parent both want one channel. Shared messages, a shared calendar with change requests, and shared expenses are what it is for. Arrangements Log has none of these, deliberately.
- You want help with tone. ToneMeter and the Writing Assistant suggest calmer wording before a message is sent.
- You or the other parent use Android, or a computer. OurFamilyWizard runs on the web, iOS and Android. Arrangements Log is iPhone and iPad only.
- You need calls, expenses or a shared information store. Calls, receipts and the Info Bank (medical, insurance, contacts) are all built in.
- Professionals need access. It offers free access for legal or mental health professionals to view your account.
- Cost is a barrier. It has a fee waiver programme for parents in financial need.
Where is Arrangements Log the better choice?
- You want a record, not a channel. One entry per call or visit, with what was scheduled, what happened and the actual times, written on the day in your own words.
- The other parent is not going to join, or you would rather not ask. Nothing depends on them, and nothing reaches them.
- You want nothing on anyone else’s server. No account, no analytics, no third-party code, “Data Not Collected”.
- You want a short selection, not an export of everything. The court’s bundle rules exclude “notes of contact visits” unless a judge directs otherwise; Arrangements Log produces a dated PDF of only the entries you filter. Our contact record guide explains why that matters, and there is a sample report.
- You would rather pay once. £49.99 for lifetime access, for one parent.
Some parents use both: a shared platform for the logistics both of them agreed to, and a private record of their own time with their child.
